RULE 69. ASSIGNMENTS.  Engineers shall be assigned for a fixed period of time which shall be for the same hours daily. So far as is practicable, assignments shall be restricted to 8 hours' work. Assignments may be discontinued at any time, engineer to be notified, where possible, prior to the end of the last shift thereof.
