RULE 58. SETTING OUT AND/OR PICKING UP DIESEL UNITS. (a) Road engineers on diesel locomotives required to set out or pick up diesel units between terminals of their run which involves the making or breaking of connections between units by a member of the engine crew will be paid an arbitrary allowance of one hour in addition to all other time for the trip.

(b) Only one arbitrary allowance shall be paid, at each point where such service is performed, regardless of the number of units set out or picked up at such point.

(e) The term "unit or units" as used in this rule refers to a unit or units that have been or are to become an integral part of the locomotive consist and under control of the engineer on the run on which the service is performed.

(d) This rule will also apply at terminals where mechanical employes are not on duty, or are on duty but not available.
